Autumn 2006

Studio MZ will help transition your Summer look into Fall!

You notice the little changes first…shorter days and crisper nights, the leaves starting to change from summer green to autumn hues. It’s fall, a time for transitions. In fashion we are seeing mini dresses paired with tights, inspired pantsuits, plush over-sized sweaters and chunky heels.

Look to Studio MZ to help transition your summer look into fall. This season we are seeing more structured styles combining the 60’s geometry with the 70’s shag appeal. A great look for shorter cuts is the asymmetrical bang which can be blended, side swept or styled. For more extreme lengths we can create a cascade of free flowing waves which fall gracefully over your shoulders.

And don’t forget color. Take those leftover summer highlights and turn them into something spectacular. Remember what works for a sunny day won’t work for fall’s temperamental temperatures. Your fall color should be bold, shiny and strong. Below are some tips for maintaining your perfect fall look:

To keep your hair shiny and healthy try Bumble and Bumble Super Rich conditioner followed with their Big Shine spray.

If you are not interested in radically changing your looks, bangs and layers are a great way to refresh your look.

Waves and curls are super exciting this fall so you may want to change your tresses and try something new.

As the holidays approach, updos offer a sleek and elegant option for longer hair.

Don’t forget to treat your chlorine coated hair with a special chlorine treatment, especially if you are updating your style and color for the fall.

Salon News
Please welcome our newest manicurist Vera, who is working part-time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Other new faces are Cindy, who joins our fabulous front desk team, and Kristen, our newest assistant, who recently graduated from Paul Mitchell. Also joining Studio MZ is Leslie Yung. Leslie is involved with AG products and travels throughout the US training stylists about the product line, hair cuts and styling techniques. Recently, Leslie was at the NY Hair Show which featured an AG stage. Congratulations to Kim Orlando Pasqualei, who married Mike on June 23rd. Kim made quite the splash in her red trimmed dress. Of course she will always be known affectionately as “Kim O”.

In August, Missy and Kim O attended a two day class at Bumble and Bumble University in New York City. The class featured the latest techniques for today’s most glamorous styles. A perfect compliment for those stylish holiday parties we all will be attending.

It’s official, Studio MZ is now the “Official Salon” of the Cavaliers Dance Team. A well deserved high-five for stylist Leslie Yung, David Porris and Susan Mate Bell for their fantastic work on the 2007 Cav’s Dance Team Calendar. Be on the look out for the premier issue of Maniac featuring Cav’s Dance Team Member Bethany on the cover. You can see Jessica’s color expertise really shine on Bethany’s lovely locks. You don’t want to miss the magazine’s premier party slated for October 5th at Synergy.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Studio MZ will be participating in a variety of fundraisers for the Susan B. Komen Foundation such as: donating a percentage of proceeds from teen cuts and face framing highlights with Renee or Kim O, conditioning treatments and blow-drys, and eye and lip waxing. Also, Bumble and Bumble will donate $1 for every can of classic hairspray purchased during the month and Studio MZ will make a donation in your name when you bring in a friend or refer a new client.

Another event planned in October is with the Skin Ceuticals representative. You won’t want to miss the illuminating techniques of the Woods Lamp on Wednesday, October 18th starting at 12noon. Stop in to see for yourself the damaging effects the sun can have on your skin. There may be more than you expected, but by using Skin Cuticles products you can prevent future damage and even correct specific areas. Make sure you talk with your esthetician and learn more about how you can protect your skin.

You will love the results of our new facial called Oxygen Rx. It is a wonderful treatment for acne, rosacea, broken capillaries and anti-ageing and the perfect treatment for over exposure to summer sun. The oxygen is activated by an enzyme in a carefully measured amount and is absolutely safe for all skin types. In addition Oxygen Rx will kill bacteria which can build up in your skin. For more information about the procedure ask your esthetician, you will love the results!

Fall is the perfect time to try Jane Iredle make-up. This mineral based cosmetic line will eliminate uneven skin tone, while letting your skin breathe. It is hypoallergenic and will not accumulate bacteria. If you want colorful, smoky eyes and a natural looking base to enhance your appearance and give your skin a healthy glow our estheticians will assist you. Jane Iredle will give you a flawless look without appearing “made-up”.

You may have noticed that we have extended our selection of Zoya nail products. Zoya is locally manufactured in Cleveland and contains no formaldehyde or toluene. It is an environmentally safe and healthy choice and we hope you enjoy the new colors now available.

Sue and Tracy will be jetting off to London this October to attend their 3rd Goldwell Platinum Hair Show. This event will be highlighting the freshest global trends and will undoubtedly be a hair rising experience. (OK a little cheesy but I couldn’t resist) A huge thank you to all of our loyal clients who help make this happen.
