Vaughn Bell graduated from the Cleveland Institute
of Art with a B.F.A. in Illustration and Photography.
The work displayed on this site and at Studio MZ are
recent compositions involving the manipulation of
original photographs.
The fundamental process consists
of layering several images and fragments of images
together in order to create a singular composition.
Street graffiti from New York City, Paris, London,
Amsterdam and Brussels are married with organic images
to produce vibrant colorful works that reflect a
painterly quality.
Other layered images include medieval frescos from
the walls of ruined European abbeys, combined with
modern street art.
